Pathway Baptist Church is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Youth Ministries to help shepherd and disciple the body of Christ with an emphasis on youth (grades 6–12) and adult discipleship. This pastoral leader will serve under the guidance of the Senior Pastor and Deacons to foster a church culture marked by gospel-centered growth, biblical maturity, and relational discipleship across generations.

Position Summary
Pathway Baptist Church is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Youth Ministries to help shepherd and disciple the body of Christ with an emphasis on youth (grades 6–12) and adult discipleship. This pastoral leader will serve under the guidance of the Senior Pastor and Deacons to foster a church culture marked by gospel-centered growth, theological depth, and relational discipleship across generations.
Primary Responsibilities
Discipleship Ministries (40%)
Oversee and coordinate adult discipleship ministries, including:
- Sunday School
- Core Seminars
- Men’s and Women’s Ministries
- All Bible Study Groups
- Identify, train, and resource volunteers, teachers, and group leaders to ensure biblical fidelity and effective ministry.
- Proactively assimilate newcomers into meaningful discipleship pathways.
- Work collaboratively with staff and deacons to design and implement a cohesive, church-wide discipleship strategy for all life stages.
- Support initiatives that enhance biblical literacy, spiritual maturity, and relational connection among church members.
Youth Ministry (60%)
Lead and oversee all aspects of youth ministry (grades 6–12), promoting gospel clarity, biblical teaching, and relational engagement. -
Disciple students through:
- Bible teaching
- Small groups
- Mentorship
- One-on-one relationships
- Equip and encourage parents in their God-given role as primary disciplers of their children.
- Recruit and develop adult leaders to serve students with theological soundness and relational care.
- Create outreach strategies to engage students from local middle and high schools.
- Organize and lead student-focused events, retreats, mission trips, and outreach opportunities aligned with church values.
- Cast and implement a compelling vision for youth ministry that is Scripture-driven, church-integrated, and disciple-multiplying.
Additional Responsibilities
- Preach during Sunday morning services several times per year.
- Participate in pastoral care and shepherding of the broader congregation alongside other pastors and leaders.
Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Bible, Theology, or Ministry required.
- Master of Divinity (MDiv) or equivalent degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of ministry experience, ideally in youth and/or discipleship within a local church setting.
- Proven ability to teach Scripture clearly and faithfully.
- Relationally warm, self-motivated, organized, and capable of working collaboratively on a team.
Spiritual Qualifications
- Must be a man who meets the biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:6–9.
- Demonstrates a growing love for Jesus Christ, His Church, and people of all ages.
- Fully aligned with the mission, doctrine, and culture of Pathway Baptist Church.
